Qualitative Analysis

Statistical Consulting Group has become nationally recognized for helping students and professors design research methodologies and analyze the qualitative data. We are dedicated to understanding the needs and desires of people. We are experts in using qualitative data analysis software such as NVivo 8 and 9, Nud*ist, HyperResearch, and Atlas.  We are adept with scholarly databases such as JSTOR, Ebsco, ProQuest, Scopus, Questia, Blackwell Synergy, ScienceDirect, and many others.

Survey Development

All surveys rely on directly asking people questions to get information. Survey must be concerned with who and how many will be asked questions (sampling), when and how often (design), and processing, analysis, and interpretation of data. Survey purposes and methods fall on a continuum. Some surveys can have far-reaching, generalizable effects, and their methods must be scientific.

All surveys consist of (1) questions and (2) instructions, and they make sense only in the context of (3) sampling and design, (4) data processing and analysis, (5) pilot testing, (6) response rate, and (7) reporting results.

Preparing Interviews

We are experts in determining sample size requirements, explaining survey designs, transcribing interviews, coding, and classifying data.

Analysis

We are dedicated to helping our clients analyze their qualitative data utilizing a number of different methodologies.

Meta-Analysis

Meta-Analysis is a methodology employed to synthesize the outcomes of various studies related to the same topic or outcome      measure. We can achieve an integration of research findings through qualitative means. Qualitative meta-analysis, also referred to as meta-synthesis, follows the same replicable procedures of a quantitative meta-analysis; however, it is interpretive rather than aggregative. It is critical to define the domain of research and establish criteria for including studies in the review.

Phenomenology

Standardized as a phenomenological research methodology by Moustakas (1994), the modified van Kaam (1959) method involves understanding the essence, meaning, and structure of an individual's lived experiences. SCG uses this methodology to look for patterns and trends by identifying shared beliefs.

Analytic Induction

We are experts in observing events, stating a hypothesis, observing additional events, and evaluating whether the new observations follow the hypothesis. We can ease the process for anyone who use analytic induction.

Logical or Matrix Analysis

Logical or matrix analysis emphasizes processes of reasoning while analytic induction relies on observations. Thus, how the answer is found is as important as what the answer actually is.
